Fake login form at MySpace
October 30, 2006

MySpace stays popular as also the Phishing attempts. MySpace has to deal with phishers who have designed a modified login form to submit the victim’s username and password on MySpace’s own web site. This form - which is launched from a profile page, with username login_home_index_html - submits the details to a remote server hosted in France.
Although the new Browsers (Firefox 2, Opera 9.1, IE 7) have phishing protection, you could use the Netcraft toolbar as an alternative. This toolbar shows a Risk Rating for the site you visit and It’s possible to report suspected Phishing Sites. Members of the Netcraft Toolbar community reported this MySpace attack too. The url is blocked after investigation by Netcraft. Users of the Netcraft Toolbar are therefore protected against this phishing attack.
