Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow is elected as new president of Turkmenistan. He immediately took action. He promissed his people Internet and they opened the first public Internet cafe. Turkmenistan is listed as one of the 13 “Internet enemies”. Old president Niyazov censored Internet and it was forbidden for most people. Less than 1 per cent of the population online, cutt off from the world. They only had their sick Turkmen Melon Day. Hopefully more changes will come.
