Kontera vs AdSense
August 1, 2006

I wanted to use Kontera’s ContentLink together with AdSense on the same page. I searched for answers. It seems some things are not clear at all at several forums and sites.
“Regarding Google’s TOS, you are not in violation. In fact, I worked with Google on this. The product you are using, Ad Link, is not in violation. I’m 100% on this. We have similar product to AdSense, called TextMatch; this raises flags at Google. If you do not specifically explain that you are using Kontera’s Ad Link product which provided in text advertising, they will assume it’s the TextMatch product. We actually have a former Google AdSense employee working for Kontera now.”
As expected Google AdSense told me something completely different:
Hello Robert,
I appreciate you checking with us on using ads from Kontera.
According to our program policies, Kontera ads may not be displayed on the same page as Google ads on your site. This policy applies to all Kontera ads. However, you are welcome to display those ads on pages of your site that do not include Google ads.
Sincerely,
Dave
The Google AdSense Team
Edit, Update: Google changed policies.. allowed.
Same that I expected .

Regarding this question, to my knowledge, I’m quite sure Kontera’s text links within content would be allowed by google. What google actually prohibites is the ads that try to “mimic” google’s ads, even Kontera is contextual based.
Another affiliate program can be used along with adsense is amazon’s omakase ads since it’s not CPC or pay per click, it’s a pay per sale type affiliate program.
