Map Photos with Picasa Web Albums
June 29, 2007

Google added new features to their Picasa Web Albums. You can Map your photos or albums now by using Google Maps. If the map feature isn’t available, go to settings -> Language Preference -> English (United States). Watch your Photos in Google Maps by clicking on “View Map” or download the KML File for Google Earth. Start the slideshow and travel from photo to photo like this Champi Photo Map at Picasa.
They also announced a Picasa Web Albums for mobile devices which can be found here: Mobile Picasa Web Albums.

hi rxbbx,
thanks for ur explanations on the mapping-feature of picasa. I have geo-tagged all my pictures and uploaded them onto a picasa album and set the language to english, now I can view the pictures in the map view
but any visitors of my public picasaweb album that do not have a google-account or are not signed into their google account do not get the map view ;-( If I visit your site http://picasaweb.google.com/rxbbxnl/Champi and I am NOT logged into my google account then the map view is not available ;-( how can I make the map view available for visitors that do not have a google-account?
would be glad to hear from you, feel free to contact me via email if you have posted an answer.
thanks and regards, james
