Motion tweening with Flash
June 13, 2006
I talked about making a stick figure animation with pivot or photoshop. Weston Campbell said Motion Tweening also was an option to create animations. To complete this story I’ve tried to make a little tutorial about Motion Tweening.
With Motion tweening you can move an object from one to another location. You can do this by applying motion tweening between the start and end frame.

Open a new file. You will see layer 1. Double click on it and give it your own name (here i called it example).

Highlight the first frame in the timeline. Draw a circle anywhere you want in this stage. If you want to have this circle animated, you will have to click on the selection tool and select that circle. We have to convert in into a symbol.

You have to click on modify - convert to symbol. Set the behaviour to graphics and click Ok to convert. Now you go to window - library and select your football. Place the circle (which is now a symbol) somewhere else on the stage. Now right-click frame number 20 in the time line and select Insert Keyframe. With this frame selected, move the football and place it anywhere else in this stage.

The last and final step is to create the so called motion tweening. Right-click at any frame between 1 and 20, and from the drop down menu select Create Motion Tween. If everything went fine you should have a screen like this:
Click on Control - Rewind and then Control - Play. You will see your football in action.
I’m glad that everything worked out fine for you. Great tutorial too!

Thnx, I am no flash guru, but flash can be so cool. You can create real nice things with little effort.
