MySpace: Most popular US website

MySpace.com got more online visitors than the Yahoo or Yahoo Mail websites last week in the US. MySpace accounted for 4.46 percent of all US Internet visits for the first week of July. It outpaces Yahoo Mail for the first time and the home pages for Yahoo, Google and MSN Hotmail. The research is done by Hitwise, an online intelligence service based in New York City. It could be an advertisment trick from Hitwise, but it’s a fact that MySpace is still growing strong.
Hitwise does not track unique visitors, but total visits. With unique visitors, MySpace ranks as the seventh-most-popular Internet site.
