Pageflakes, Simplify your Digital Life
September 18, 2006

Pageflakes, a personalized online ajax desktop, provides a one-stop access-point to your favourite internet applications and content such as blogs, news feeds, Del.icio.us bookmarks, Flickr photos and numerous other web services and applications. By aggregating these services onto one page, Pageflakes saves its users the effort of manually checking dozens of sites for updates every day. It is one of the best start pages on the market currently.

Pageflakes has an open platform for developers worldwide. Any developer, anywhere in the world, can write a so called “flake” and make it available to every Pageflakes user. These flakes are little web applications such as a To-Do-List Manager or Address Book. Their community of developers is growing fast. Pageflakes has been adding almost one new flake every day since its launch in March and now has more then 100 unique services on the site.
There are three privacy levels at Pageflakes:
- Private: Completely private. Only the owner of the page can view or edit it.
- Shared: Invitation-only. Can be viewed and edited by the people invited by the owner.
- Public: Can be viewed by anyone, but only the owner can edit.
