Christijan Albers will race with his Spyker F1 against Air Force pilot Ralph Staal’s F-16 fighter jet on friday, 20 april. The race has been organised by the Royal Netherlands Air Force to recruit personnel.

The Spyker team has historical ties with the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Military personell drove Spyker cars and the air force flew seven Farman F22 planes built by Spyker. The logo of Spyker still holds an air plane propeller.

Michael Schumacher scored one out of three in a similar race in 2003 against an Italian Eurofighter Typhoon Jet with his Ferrari F1.

Update: Christijan lost the race against the F-16 fighter jet. Watch the race: F16 versus Formule1 op Volkel.
