Wordpress 2.2, named “Getz” is available for download. Version 2.2 includes about 200+ bug fixes, more integration of Widgets, UI and accessibility improvements and security fixes that 2.1.3 lacks. Wordpress 2.2 is a mandatory upgrade for 2.1.3 users.
New:
- WordPress Widgets drag-and-drop simplicity now included by default in the core code, significantly cleaned up, and enabled for the default themes.
- Full Atom support. Updated Atom feeds to use the 1.0 standard spec. Included implementation of the Atom Publishing API to complement XML-RPC interface.
- New Blogger importer. Import posts and comments without any user interaction beyond entering your login.
- Infinite comment stream: Edit Comments page when deleting or spamming a comment using the AJAX links under each comment it will bring in another comment. Always 20 items on the page.
- Protection against activating a plugin or editing a file that will break your blog.
- Core plugin and filter speed optimizations.
- Hook for WYSIWYG support in a future version of Safari.
